Morong Ecozone Inc., commonly referred to as MEi (Mo Rong SEZ) is currently considered as the only legal established agency in the Philippines to issue online gaming licenses. With the ensued business suspension of several gaming companies at the end of year 2013, MEi emerged as a government-issued licensing agency in the country to specifically state its legitimacy . Its present holdings already include 30 several online gaming companies. The main goal of the company is to help the local and national government in promoting long-term private investments in the country that will generate profits with significant development, specifically taking part in the development of Morong special economic zones. Furthermore, MEi was able to secure its license from the Morong Special Economic Zone-Main Zone (MSEZ-MZ) to operate, conduct, or engage as BPO Master Licensor or Regulator of I-Gaming and/or E-gaming and/or online, internet, electronic, mobile interactive gaming or computer and mobile device-based games of chance played via the internet and exclusively for international market.
History
Morong Special Economic Zone
On the month of March 1997, the Municipality of Morong was proclaimed as the “Morong Special Economic Zone” (MSEZ). It comprises the land area within the territorial jurisdiction of Morong, Bataan and the 365.23 hectares that the “Philippine Refugee Processing Center” occupies. MSEZ is an economic zone that promotes and ensures the development of different industries in the aspect of socio-economic, environmental, technological and infrastructure support. Building and creating opportunities through the establishment of information-related business activities such as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Solutions, Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO), contact center training and consultancy, data processing and management, and IT services to name a few. MSEZ also ventures themselves in customer-related services and support for online gaming. Since then, Morong Ecozone Inc. emerged as the forefront in the gaming industry for the development of MSEZ, securing its legal license to officially operate in year 2013.
Founding
The company was established on October 11, 2013, opening its services for multinational clients. Under the current supervision of MEi's Chief Executive Officer, it set its pace to maintain and continuously develop good working partnership with both its local and foreign clients. Its official land-based office is located in One Corporate Center at Pasig City, Philippines.
Grand Launching
After holding a soft opening on April 11, 2014 in an effort to introduce the establishment among its Board of Directors and employees, the company expanded their recognition in the gaming industry by celebrating its grand launch on May 24, 2014. Prominent businessmen across Asia were present to formally give their support from China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, India, Taiwan, etc. came to signify their good working relationship with the company. To credit the legality of the company's operation, few government officials personally gave their greetings.

As of June 2014, the Chief Executive Officer of MEi received a from the Government of Pasig, acknowledging the company's effort in contributing to the local and national development by means of long-term investments of its international partners. Projects and future developments
Under the supervision of the current Chief Executive Officer, the company intends to expand worldwide by extending its negotiating arms to other several countries to come and invest in the Philippines. In return, such foreign investment will contribute to the development of power plants, water conservancy, resort to the economic development, and the promotion of local economic growth.
