Bazemore Pharmacy

The Bazemore Pharmacy was one of the most successful pharmacies in Albany, New York in the first half of the 20th Century.
It experienced its greatest success under the management of Stuart Bazemore, the son of the pharmacy's founder and a graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy, up until the late 1930s. However, once the United States became involved in World War II, business suffered and the pharmacy went out of business in 1943. Although the building today is occupied by a different company, the building, located in historic Albany serves as an important marker for the history of pharmacy in Albany in that its example of success during peacetime promoted the further growth of retail pharmacies in New York's Capital District.
