Bantams Trek was founded by Bradford City kit man Graham Duckworth to raise money for the Bradford Burns Unit in 2010. Bantams Trek raised £6660 from their Lincoln Walk, which was a 24 hour walk non-stop from Valley Parade to Sincil Bank. Founders Founded by Graham Duckworth to raise money for the Bradford Burns Unit with a 73 mile non-stop 24 hour walk from Bradford City Football Club to Lincoln City Football Club, his walk was featured on the Bradford City Football Club Official Website with a request for help through the local press. Bradford business website design company, EasybizSites.com owner Richard Copley answered the request and began work on publicity for the walk and because he owned a website design company, the first thing he did was design the website. At this point it was just known as the "Lincoln Walk" or "Back The Walk" , but after a discussion between Richard Copley and Graham Duckworth that confirmed that if the first walk is succesful, there would be more walks. As a result, Richard Copley drew up a list of potential names for the website, one of these was Bantams Trek. And so the charity walks became known as Bantams Trek. Walks Lincoln Walk The Lincoln Walk took place on December 31st 2010 and began at 2pm. Graham Duckworth and his team departed from the dug-out at Valley Parade, Bradford, West Yorkshire with the aim of reaching the dug-out at Sincil Bank, Lincoln an hour before kick-off of the football match between Lincoln City Football Club and Bradford City Football Club at 3pm, 1st January, 2011. The distance was 73 miles and Graham Duckworth and his Bantams Trek team sucessfully completed the journey in the 24 hours targeted time. The walk raised £6660 for the Bradford Burns Unit and a presentation of the cheque was made to the founder of the Bradford Burns Unit, Professor David Sharpe on the pitch at Valley Parade for home game against Lincoln City in February 2011. It was decided that the first walk should be from Bradford to Lincoln because the 1985 Bradford Fire Disaster at Valley Parade where 56 people died was between Bradford City and Lincoln City. Two Lincoln City supporters Bill Stacey and Jim West died in the fire. Three Peaks Walk On June 18th 2011 Bantams Trek will be doing Three Peaks walk. This time Graham has invited supporters of Bradford City to join him and as a result, Bradford City midfielder Lee Bullock is also going to be doing the walk.
