Balleilakka is a song from the Tamil film Sivaji: The Boss starring Rajinikanth and Shriya Saran, directed by Shankar. The music was composed by the A. R. Rahman, lyrics were written by Na. Muthukumar (P.K Mishra in Hindi) and sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam (Javed Ali in Hindi), Reihana and Benny Dayal. The song is shot in India. The song also has many people who have had their bellies painted as Lions (this is also related to how the 1 rupee coin has a lion on one side and a flower on the other). Nayantara makes a guest appearance making it an item number. Director S. Shankar also makes a special appearance in this song, he appears on screen using his mobile phone when the lyrics depict "Switch of your phones, and enjoy". Balleilakka is derived from the Russian word Balalaika which is a musical instrument. The pretense for the song comes after Sivaji (Rajinikanth) has returned from United States of America and is being shown a cat walk of the top beauties of Chennai. After the cat walk, a girl called Vibuthy (which is also a religious powder spread across the forehead) invites him to dance with the girls. The DJ is playing an English track and Sivaji tells him to play a Tamil song. Then the song begins with Nayantara appearing. A version of this song sung by the symphony chorus Oakland chorale is also available. The title of the song was later reused in a track in Venkat Prabhu's Mankatha.
