Vaaji Vaaji

"Vaaji Vaaji" is a song from the film Sivaji: The Boss starring Rajinikanth and Shriya Saran, directed by Shankar. This song was the first shot in this film. This is the most expensive song in the film with the budget of about 3.5 crores. The music was composed by the A. R. Rahman. It was sung by Hariharan and Madhushree. The lyrics are written by Vairamuthu. He has described Shriya with the words "ambal" which means lotus flower and "mouval" which means wild jasmine. The choreography is done by Raju Sundaram. Designer Manish Malhotra dressed Shriya in beautiful dresses and Rajinikanth in Persian clothes. The song is depicted using sets of ancient Babylon of the Persian Empire at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The song shows Sivaji (Rajinikanth) as a Persian king and Tamizhselvi (Shriya Saran) as the queen.
The pretense for this song is that Sivaji invites Tamizhselvi and his family for the second course in getting to know each other. Shriya earlier said that she could not marry Sivaji because she had not got to know him. The second course involves Tamizhselvi and her family coming for a meal at the Sivaji mansion. After the meal Sivaji shows (Shriya) Tamizhselvi all the things that he has bought for her. Then they go out to the pool and Sivaji tells her all he needs is a wink of approval. She winks and the song begins.
