AZ Dodgeball

AZ Dodgeball is an independent company that hosts dodgeball events and leagues in the greater Phoenix, Arizona area.
History
AZ Dodgeball was founded in 2006 by Arizona resident Sam Pewitt. AZ Dodgeball's first event was the first season of its league in which six teams competed. The first season was played in the gymnasium of Fuller Elementary School in Tempe, Arizona, and was later moved to the North Tempe Multi-Generational Center, through a relationship with the Tempe YMCA. The champions of the first season were the Flying Pterodactyls.
Events
After the first season, AZ Dodgeball hosted a holiday charity tournament called "Duck The Balls". The tournament was held on December 17, 2006. All proceeds from the tournament went to the Tempe Family YMCA.
After the charity tournament, the second season began on January 24, 2007. The ten week season concluded with a double elimination tournament, in which all eight teams participated. The winning team of season two was "The Average Ho's".
In the summer of 2007, AZ Dodgeball hosted its second tournament, the "Great American Dodgeball Bash" on June 30, 2007. The tournament hosted nine different teams, with the winner of the tournament, Dodge-lol, receiving $1000, and the team with the best uniform, as voted on by AZ Dodgeball staff, was the Average Ho's, which won $300.
