Avp 3

AvP 3 is the highly anticipated sequel to the successful Alien and Predator franchise originally created by Ridley Scott (Alien) James Cameron (Aliens), David Fincher (Alien³) Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Alien: Resurrection), John McTiernan (Predator), Stephen Hopkins (Predator 2), Paul W. S. Andersen (Alien vs. Predator), and the Brothers Strause (Alien vs. Predator: Requiem). It has recently been greenlighted by 20th Century Fox.

Not much is known plot-wise, but it is certain that it will take place in outer space and will explain how the Aliens and Predators first got to Earth (The first film already explained this, but the third will provide much greater detail.) There are also rumors it will involve a crew of trigger happy USCM marines and a large hunting party of Predators (with plenty of aliens for them to shoot at). Another rumor that has been circulating is that it will officially tie-in all the films in both franchises by showing Ellen Ripley leaving on the Nostromo and explaining how the Derilict got on LV-426/why it was carrying alien facehuggers.

None of this has been confirmed of course, and 20th Century Fox will be keeping all 'official' plot details to themselves at present. Cast and crew, even the director has been kept secret, but it has been assumed that it will be made by the same makers of AvP:R (the Brothers Strause)

AvP 3 is scheduled for release either summer or Christmas 2009.
