Aussenkehr Desert Extreme Trail Run

The Aussenkehr Desert Extreme Trail Run is a three-day running event over 100 km, partly along the northern banks of the Orange River, and partly through mountainous landscape in Namibia. The course runs through the Aussenkehr Nature Park, which is a 100 000 ha tract of unspoilt desert, with stony plateaux, crumbling canyons and intriguing plant life.
Its inaugural run started on 22 September 2010, with a small field of 28 athletes. The course starts and finishes at Norotshama River Resort. The ladies' winner was Regine Enenkel in 11h 24m 07s and the men's Edward Lambert in 9h 5m 25s.
