Association of Maldivian Engineers

The association of Maldivian Engineers or AME is a professional engineering association representing engineers from the Maldives. It is a non governmental and non profit organization. Brief history Although the work of this association were started in 2007, AME was registered in the Ministry of Home affairs of Maldives on 18 March 2008. The association represents engineers from the Maldives. The engineers worked to form the association were: Mohamed Rasheed (Electrical Engineer), Abdulla Naushad (Civil Engineer), Ibrahim Hameez (Building Services Engineer), Ibrahim Shiyaz (Civil, Structural engineer), and Thoriq Ibrahim (Building Services Engineer). First annual general meeting (AGM) was held on 7 May 2011 with chief guest as Mohamed Shafeegu (Public Health Engieer). Executive committee was elected at the AGM with Adnan Ali (Civil Engineer) as its first president. At the time of first AGM, there were 71 engineers registered as members in the association. Present Time Currently the executive committee is working on an article of association which will allow proper functioning of the association with various type of engineering disciplines.
