Ashwin Ramaswami is an American lawyer and politician. Ramaswami was a candidate for the 48th district in the 2024 Georgia State Senate election, losing with over 46% of the vote against incumbent state senator Shawn Still. Early life and education Ramaswami was born to a Indian Tamil family and raised in Johns Creek, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Stanford University, graduating in 2021 with a degree in computer science. He later attended Georgetown University, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree. He previously worked at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency as an IT specialist. Electoral positions Ramaswami is a member of the Democratic Party. He has advocated for increasing teacher pay and healthcare funding.<ref name=":0" /> |
