Andrew Taglianetti (born December 22, 1989 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is an American football safety playing for the University of Pittsburgh. He is the son of former NHL player Peter Taglianetti High School Career Taglianetti was a standout for the Central Catholic Vikings. Having played running back, wide receiver, cornerback, holder, and a special teams contributor, he was a major part to the success of the Vikings. During his exceptional senior year, he averaged 11.3 yards per carry, compiling 1,161 yards and 12 touchdowns on 103 attempts. As a receiver, he averaged 24.7 yards per catch on 17 receptions for 420 yards. On defense, he had five interceptions (one returned for a TD), three fumble recoveries and two blocked kicks. During the second round of the 2007 WPIAL playoffs, he and fellow Pitt recruit Tino Sunseri set a WPIAL playoff record by connecting on a 99-yard reception for a touchdown versus Bethel Park.
