Early life
Ashley was born in Memphis, Tennessee to an investment banker and commercial real estate developer father and a stay-at-home mother. She has an older sister, Leigh and younger brother Will and younger sister Leigh.
Ashley graduated from the University of Virginia in 1998 and is an alumni board member for 2015-2016.
Personal life
Ashley married NFL quarterback Peyton Manning on March 17, 2001. They had twins, son Marshall Williams and daughter Mosley Thompson, on March 31, 2011.
Performance-enhancing drugs allegations
In December 2015, Al Jazeera America released a report conducted by the Al Jazeera Investigative Unit investigating athletes' use of performance-enhancing drugs which named Peyton Manning, among other prominent athletes, as having received illegal drugs from the Guyer Anti-Aging Clinic in Indianapolis during the fall of 2011. The report claimed Ashley had been shipped off label human growth hormone by the Guyer Institute during the fall of 2011 while Peyton was out with a severe neck injury, with the intention of hiding that Manning was the one receiving the drugs.
Peyton stated he was "angry, furious disgusted is really how I feel, sickened by ". Al Jazeera America's source recanted his story and requested that the report not be aired.
Career
in 2012, Ashley became a minority owner of the Memphis Grizzlies NBA team. While living in Tennessee and Indiana, Ashley worked in real estate development.
