ASGC Construction Group (Al Shafar Contracting Company) is an international vertically integrated construction conglomerate, which was founded in 1989. The group's corporate headquarter is in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and has its offices in Egypt and the United Kingdom. ASGC's construction projects range across sectors including residential, commercial, leisure, hospitality, healthcare, education, social infrastructure, and industrial. Over the last decade, the group has expanded with ASGC Egypt and ASGC Oil & Gas. The group also offers project financing solutions and management services through its UK office.
The company's motto is- Expect More. As of today (May 2020), ASGC employs around 18,000 people across the GCC and Africa and has till date worked on over 300 projects.

History
ASGC was founded by Mohamed Saif Bin Shafar, Mohamed Al Sayah, and Emad Azmy.
Mr Emad Azmy's professional career started at the Arab Contractors in Egypt. In 1986, he moved to Dubai, and 3 years later established ASGC. He graduated from the University of Assiut in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Later in 2017, he received an honorary Doctorate Degree from Heriot-Watt University, Dubai.
Mr Emad was ranked third in Construction Week's annual list of the Middle East's most influential leaders in 2019.

* ASSENT- Designs, fabricates & erects a range of steel products for commercial, oil & gas & pre-engineered & modular buildings (prefabricated).
* HBF- Manufactures all kinds of masonry, hourdi, paving, shore protection.
* HPBS- Designs, manufactures & installs precast concrete elements: pre-stressed beams and hollow-core slabs.
* EB- Designs, produces & supplies ready mix concrete
* ASU- MEP services: supply, installation & maintenance of air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and sanitary.
* ASI- Fit-out & Interior design services (refurbishments, production & installation).
* JML- Established as an architectural façade.

ASGC Egypt was established in 2009. It is currently working on projects including Levana, Cairo Festival Living, Baroque Residential Development, New Administrative Capital Residential Development and Marais.
ASGC UK branch was established to provide construction management services and offer financing solutions to entities and governments that require UKEF-supported financing to develop strategic projects. ASGC UK is currently providing project management and funding services to Aqua Africa Drinking Water Project, General Hospital Of Gabina, Mother & Child Hospital Camama And Hematologic Pediatric Institute Of Luanda.

Growth perspectives
ASGC has announced plans to expand in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region). In May 2020, ASGC announced that it will acquire a 15% stake in Costain, the UK based construction company, as part of Costain's £100m cash-raising share issue.
