Ahmed M Osman

Early Days


Ahmed M Osman was born on the 25th of November 1977 in Birmingham, U.K of Egyptian Parents. He his Egyptian British. He was raised in the U.K and Kuwait where he went to Kuwait English School (1981-1995). His life was directly affected by the the Invasion of Kuwait and the Gulf War.

Awards

In 1995, European Council of International Schools awarded Ahmed its student award for International Understanding. The ECIS Board of Trustees has produced the following citation to accompany the award which includes certain qualities it is felt should characterise the student recognised by the award: link title

"Awarded to a student who is a good representative of his/her own country, with a positive attitude toward the life and culture of others, able to converse in at least two languages, a contributing force in the life of the school, with the ability to bring differing people together into a sense of community, thus furthering the cause of international understanding."

University Year's

Ahmed joined The School of Civil Engineering at University of Birmingham, UK in September 1995. He was very actively involved in student associations and was pivotal in the establishment of The Egyptian Student's Society (ESS) and The Arab Society (ASOC). He was president of ESS from 1996 to 1999 and Treasurer of ASOC from 1997 to 1998. He was awarded his bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with honors in 1998 and his Masters degree in Highway Management and Engineering (1999). Ahmed's master's degree research focused on Highway and Infrastructure Asset Management for developing countries. In 2005, he received the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in the USA.

Employment

In 2000, Ahmed joined Projacslink title International, a leading project management firm in the Middle East. During his nine years of work at Projacs, Ahmed has successfully developed technical and commercial proposals for projects awarded in Egypt, Morocco, ,Libya , Sudan, Yemen, and Tunisia. In addition, he successfully assessed, negotiated and bid for Joint Venture projects with leading international firms. These projects cover many sectors such as hotels, retail, corporate, industrial and leisure. Ahmed is currently the Assistant Vice President for Business Development for Egypt & North Africa, at where he played a pivotal role in the development of regional offices for the company in Egypt and Morocco. link title

He has extensive experience in contract administration, commercial management, auditing, pre-qualification of contractors and consultants and procurement activities gained in several multi-million dollar projects. Some of his notable project awards include Vodafone link title C3 office building at Smart Village and Nozha & Nasr City Center mega malls, Fouka Development- North Coast and the renovation of the historic Cataract Hotel in Aswan, Egypt.


Family

In 2002, Ahmed married Dr. Israa Ibrahim in Cairo, Egypt. He currently has two children, Omar (2003) and Alia (2007).
