Arya Permana (born 2006) is the former world's heaviest living child, weighing at as of 2016. He was considered morbidly obese. Medical concerns Permana was born in the village of Cipurwasari, Indonesia at a normal weight; he began rapidly gaining weight in 2014. As a result of medical concerns, Permana was placed on a rapid diet plan in order to lower his weight by mid-2016. While this diet reduced his weight and allowed him to return to school, continued hunger and further medical concerns prompted a sleeve gastrectomy surgery by Dr. Handy Wing at Omni Hospital, Alam Sutera, Tangerang. Teenage years (2019-) In 2019, it's revealed that Arya lost more than 200 pounds. |
