Armen Karaoghlanian

Armen Karaoghlanian, born on August 23, 1987, is an Armenian-American film writer and director.
In the context of Armenian-American filmmakers, he is considered as part of a movement of stepping away from the traditional and conventional narratives and moving towards experimental filmmaking with an emphasis in visual storytelling rather than narrative, much in the style of famed filmmaker Sergei Parajanov. The several short films he has thus produced all show a clear thematic of loss, grief, death, and the inability to let go. In relation to the craft of his films, the structure of his films are also similar to the films of Atom Egoyan.
In Fall 2011, he signed on to become a teaching assistant for a film course on Fritz Lang, Stanley Kubrick, and David Fincher, making him the first teaching assistant appointed to a class at Woodbury University. In addition to being a teaching assistant, he was also appointed to become a co-lecturer. This suggests the balance he is keeping between academia and his professional career.
