Born in 1980 in Shanghai, China, Yi Chen studied literature, history and philosophy, directed short films, and wrote film reviews. She moved to United States on August 19, 2003 and graduated from American University’s film program in 2008. The award-winning debut of Chinese female filmmaker Yi Chen, Flight Level Three Twenty Four (FL324) tells an exquisite, intimate story of alienation and reconciliation. It's the Official Selection of the 2008 DC Independent Film Festival and 2007 Falls Church Film Festival, also winner of Best Narrative Short and Best Editing Craft Award at the 2008 Visions Festival.
