Maximum Sixty

Maximum Sixty, also known as M60, is a progressive rock / alternative rock band, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
History of the band
M60 was formed out of a class social studies project, by members Tyler Wagar, Alex Riel, Lyle Mackenzie, and former guitarist Curtis Wright. Instructed to perform a musical performance about ancient Roman Gods, the four junior high classmates of Hastings Elementary school, seized the opportunity to form a band. After an impressive recreation of Nirvana's
Smells Like Teen Spirit, the band continued on cycling through various members such as Shane Uzelman on guitar, and Dan Pfiefer on lead Vocals. Now enrolled in Dakota Collegiate, the four original members began taking music making more seriously. They quickly brought on Jordan Froese to in fill for drums, created the name In Control, and began to play local shows, such as school benefits, and school parties. Later on, Brendan Cade would become the bands lead vocalist, during a school band trip to Japan, in the spring of 2006. From this point on, M60 branched out style wise, and in terms of their live performances. Over the next year, M60 would increase their fanbase, playing at lounges around Winnipeg, and would be promoted on the radio by renowned Winnipeg DJ Howard Mandshein. The band would later be brought on by former The Pumps band member, and recording artist Chris Burke-Gaffney. Teamed up with former Nickelback, Loverboy, and Econoline Crush producer Dale Penner, M60, began to record their first Extended play in the summer of 2008. The unnamed EP as of right now, is set to be released in the spring of 2009.
