Aquasermo

Introduction
Aquasermo is a mechanical device developed by Aquareign and Norgren, which make pictures using jets of water powered by high-performance miniature solenoid valves, to advertise a product or service. The pictures in question need to be programmed in C++ or another related programming language and be very simple. However the company hopes eventually to include more complex designs . Aquasermo is often used to advertise a product or service.

History

The Aquasermo project was started in 1983 by Sandeep Anjeed . However the project remained secret until recently; the company have been heavily promoting it on the radio, and on internet sites such as Youtube. The specification for this design was first written down formally in 1987, and said that the final product should be :
» Design is modular and scalable
» Self-contained feature using low power electronics & fresh
water, resulting in safe human interface
» Standard lighting options are available
» Display effects from 1 meter to more than 10 meters in with
» Working heights from 2 meters
» Optimal viewing distances of 3 to 150 meters
» Low maintenance
» Anti bacterial solution added to water as extra safety
precaution in order to prevent Legionella or other fungal
agent from growing
The extent of which the prototype has achieved this is discussed in the following chapters.
Aquasermo was originally tested in Hillfields, Coventry, in coventry town square and received reasonable success even though Norgren technicians only getting the device to work 2 days after it was scheduled to.

Foreseen usefulness in advertising

Aquasermo has been criticized for being to expensive, for instance: Chang Qing, head of advertising in the chinese multinational company BTMBeijing commented that the prototype cost £25 000, which is a similar price companies will have to pay to rent out the device, which is significant for such a localised form of advertising.

Usefulness so far

The ideology behind the product sparked extensive research into how water can be controlled by valves. For example, Pneumatics JSB International discovered the triple valve rotary system which allows water to be propelled out of three different tubes at three different rates. (Patent Number: WO0121962).

Usage
Aquasermo can be used at exhibitions, shopping malls, reception areas, conferences, VIP parties and entertainment and leisure venues. It has been displayed recently at celebrity VIP parties in the UK & USA, on-board exclusive cruise ships and at the National Wedding Show, at the BET Awards, and the Eventia Awards.
