The Apple Jacks Truck (or "AJ" Truck) was a cross-promotional Advertising campaign between the cereal, Apple Jacks, and the freight-carrier company, UPS. This campaign ran during the summer of 1996. AJ Trucks were plastic, and featured many small parts - as a result, these toys were not "kid-friendly." The cross-promotional campaign ended in September of 1996. One enthusiast, Kevin Cooper, keeps his truck on a mantle in his study. In a recent interview for Hobbies Magzine, (January '08, edition #357) Kevin explained, "I was struggling to find a job after graduation. This truck kept me going. It gave me a reason to wake up in the morning during that summer." The Truck The truck was plastic, and roughly 1.5 pounds in weight. This truck featured a green and red exterior, which reflected the colors of the Apple Jacks Box.
