Koi
Nick Haque opened Koi, a contemporary Japanese restaurant, in Los Angeles, California in 2002. Koi consists of four dining rooms, a patio, a lounge and a sushi bar. Nick Haque recruited German designer Thomas Schoos to direct the design team for the restaurant. The restaurant is located on La Cienega Blvd. in West Hollywood. "Frommer's Review" mentions that many celebrities have been seen dining at the restaurant. Koi is decorated with dark wood, bamboo, and Buddha statues. The cuisine is Japanese California fusion. Some examples of dishes on the menu include Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Baked Crab Handroll and Miso bronzed Black Cod. Describing the experience his restaurants create, Nick Haque said, “My restaurants are designed to appeal to all the senses.” He also explained,“I wanted it to feel like home — chic, yet comfortable.”
