Andrew Phillips is an American songwriter, guitarist and death metal vocalist who was born in Harford County, MD on November 21, 1972.

 He is known best as the founder of the Baltimore, MD death metal band Sabaothic Cherubim. Andrew is also known for his creation of ATP Entertainment in 1989, which is the parent company of the indie death metal label Guttural Planet Records. In 2009, Andrew formed the thrash/speed metal band Conduit of Fire as a side project to Sabaothic Cherubim. This band features Andrew on guitar and drums, Jack Kemmerzell on vocals and Jennifer Phillips (Andrew’s wife) on vocals/acoustic guitar.Andrew’s style of playing features techniques such as speed picking (aka fly-picking), palm muting and the excessive use of the tremolo bar during solos. His guitars of choice include the BC Rich Ironbird, BC Rich Warlock and First Act Custom ME501. His gear consists of a vintage Ampeg 1969 V-2 tube amp with 4x12 cabinet, Line6 emulations and Boss sustainer. In the early 1990s, he used Marshall and D.O.D. effects, but switch to Line6 in 2007.

According to Andrew’s personal myspace site, one of his hobbies is collecting musical instruments, which includes 13 electric guitars, 3 acoustic guitars, a vintage 1906 mandolin, violin, saxophone, drums etc. Andrew is also an avid collector of Star Wars and World War II items. His other hobbies include film making, special effects and military history. His film making projects include the underground 1989 horror/comedy short film, Ernie Goes Berserk and its’ sequel Ernie Goes Berserk 2. He is also active in creation and production of the comedy skits “The Underground”.
