Weepcore

Weepcore is defined as the genre of music that can be used to describe any band that sings about sad/depressing subjects and at least has music that includes use of electric guitar/s, drums, and bass. It originates from many different types of music that match these characteristics. The sad or depressing subjects covered by weepcore bands generally include; but are not limited to, relationship troubles, the death of a loved one, and their own depressing view on the world or their lives. Although all weepcore bands have certain qualities in common, they come with various musical stylings. Many bands that may be considered post-hardcore, emotive hardcore, punk, alternative, metal, and rock are still technically weepcore because they fill the requirements of a weepcore band. |
