Andrew Alcott

Alky (born 2 July 1990) is a Filipino Italian and American wrestler who competes for and the Philippines National Team.
Background and amateur career
Alky was born on July 2 in Quezon City, Philippines. At the age of two he was adopted, and later become a citizen of the United States at the age of four. Alky began wrestling at age ten with Cobras Youth Club of Rochester, New York. Alky later wrestled for Spencerport High School, one of the United States' top public high school wrestling programs. He performed well and made the varsity squad. At thirteen, Alky was diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatter disease, which affected his knee early in its development. The disease coupled with an ACL injury caused him to sit out his senior season. He later joined St. John's University club program in which he gained victories in several exhibitions against Big East wrestlers. He continued his good form and was named the top wrestler in the NCWA for the month of November. He was then called in by the national team.
International career
Alky is currently 4-1 in International competition for the Philippines at 55 kg (121 lbs). He wrestled in friendly matches against Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. He is scheduled to compete for the squads 55 kg spot for the Asia Cup and 2012 Summer Olympics in England. Upon his Olympic sanctioning, question arose over his eligibility. Alky was able eligible to wrestle for the nations of the Philippines, United States, England (because of adoptive rights) and Italy. He chose the Philippines in the Summer of 2009.
