Allegations of apartheid in Slovakia and the Czech Republic

Slovakia and the Czech Republic have been accused of discrimination of Roma people in Slovakia and this has led to comparisons of apartheid, specifically in the case of a village in Slovakia. The Open Society Institute and Amnesty International have noted segregation of Roma children to special schools or Roma-only schools. This has led organizations to liken the situation to an "educational apartheid." As with all such allegations comparing the situation to apartheid is controversial. Web sources |
