Russian Project

The Russian Project is student volunteer program developed in 1998 by ProBa Language Center, St. Petersburg, Russia and Stiftung Jugendaustausch Schweiz - GUS, Luzern, Switzerland.
The term in its non-political but strictly educational meaning was first used in Swiss bilingual newspaper Vostotschnaja Sep.1997
The project is aimed at people willing not only to study the language but also to do something in order to experience life as it is in the society they are not very familiar with. This way an intensive Russian language course (4 or 8 weeks) is being followed by a month or more period of practical work at different hospitals, kindergartens, schools, sport schools, children's homes and summer camps.
