Aliya Prokofyeva

Aliya Sergeevna Prokofyeva (; born 14 September 1986 in Leningrad, USSR) is a space visionary and an entrepreneur. Founder and owner of the global future foundation «Galaktika». Forbes Russia contributor, conference speaker.
Biography
Aliya Prokofyeva was born on 14 September 1986 in the city of Leningrad in the family of astrophysicists. Her mother, Nina Umarbaeva, was chief constructor in the Pulkovo Observatory, Soviet Academy of Sciences. Her aunt, Tamara Pyatunina, was an acknowledged astrophysicist in Russian Academy of Sciences. She conducted researches on the black holes and made a theoretical studies on pulsar's structures.
Education
In 2003, Aliya entered the Saint Petersburg State University to follow the specialization of international marketing. She was commended by many teachers; and due to her outstanding academic abilities Aliya has completed three internships over the educational course:
* 2005 - Dublin (Trinity College Dublin);
* 2006 - Milan (Bocconi University);
* 2006 - Paris (HEC Business School).
In 2009 Aliya Prokofyeva graduated from the Saint Petersburg State University with a Diploma with Honours.
Career
Since 2006 she worked in the telecommunications company MT Service. In 2009, he became a member of the board of directors, and a year later he became co-owner of the "Energia" group of companies.
In 2012, she participated in the development of new sources of energy, as well as new types of industrial materials.
In 2015, Aliya Prokofyeva worked on AES+F Inverso Mundus in 56th Venice Biennale.
In 2016, she founded the space company "Galaktika" (specializes in projects in the space sector, as well as developing ultra light rockets for launch into space).
In 2018, she gained participation with her project in The Creative Destruction Lab.
In 2018, Aliya totally changed activities of the "Galaktika" from a technical startups towards education and community activities. Aliya transformed "Galaktika" to a global future foundation with community platform, creation of the educational and entertainment space city on Earth. The long term goal of the foundation is to build a first city in space and the mission is to bring humanity to next level of development.
Later, she created the Cosmos Foundation, which supports projects in the field of art, architecture, scientific initiatives in space, the philosophy of Russian cosmism, and the popularization of space.
Aliya is a Forbes contributor, speaker, participated in the jury of Lexus Design Award.

Also, Aliya Prokofyeva was a speaker at the Global Challenges summit "Space resources and space development" in Astana.
In 2018—2019, Aliya was a expert jury member at the Lexus Design Award Russia Top Choice.

At the moment Aliya Prokofyeva is working on a novel "Space: Yours and Mine» and a series of books for children about space and human capabilities A series of books for children «The orbital city Efir. The Yala Diaries».
