Undisclosed family issues kept forced Edouard to leave the Syracuse team prior to the start of preseason practice, keeping him in Florida. Additionally, Syracuse head coach, Scott Shafer stated "He and his family decided they feel it was in his best interests to enroll in school in January at the midyear." Shafer voiced his support for Edouard, referencing the quarterback's upbringing, stating "When his family situation is such that he says, 'I can get back,' we'll bring him back. If that's tomorrow, great. If that's during the winter, great. Either way, he's my guy, and we're sticking by him." Edouard stated his decision to enroll in the winter, rather than the fall, was to have a "fresh start." Edouard later transferred to the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
On July 28, 2019 via an Instagram post, Edouard announced his transfer as a graduate to the University of Rhode Island for the 2019 season. He appeared in one game as a reserve for Rhode Island.
