Alexander R. Marmureanu

Alexander R. Marmureanu is a cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in the field of minimally invasive Thoracic & Cardiovascular surgery. He is board certified with the Diplomate-American Board of Thoracic Surgery and Diplomate-American Board of Surgery.
Biography
Dr. Marmureanu completed his General Surgery Residency and a Research Fellowship at New York University Medical Center in New York City. He continued his surgical training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, where he was actively involved in the field of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery research. He earned a Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at UCLA, where he subsequently joined the UCLA faculty as Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery. He was then appointed Director of Thoracic Surgery at Century City Hospital, where he built its Center for Thoracic Surgery. and the Board of Directors and Medical Executive Committee for St. Vincent Medical Center.
Scientific Investigator
Marmureanu is currently the UCLA Principal Surgical Investigator in the cardiac denervation surgery for prevention of ventricular tachyarrhythmias (“Prevent VT”) national trial.
