Ahmed Saadawi

Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Saadawi is the TESOL Arabia Abu Dhabi Representative. He is also an English faculty at the PreCORE Academic Program of the Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR), Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is a certified thinking/talent-development trainer of Cognitive Research Trust (CoRT). Ahmed comes from Egypt, but has lived in the UAE for 12 years. He is a liberal Muslim. He is married with three kids.

Ahmed is a holder of a Ph.D. degree in English language and literature, following an M.A. in English Literature (Feminist Literary Criticism), a postgraduate/pre-Masters diploma, a B.A. in English Language & Literature from the College of Arts and a B.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the College of Education, all at Cairo University, Egypt.

Ahmed’s work responsibilities include teaching English as L2 at the PreCORE Academic Program of the Fatima College of Health Sciences, KUSTAR, which has been established, developed and run by the Special Projects Sector of the Institute of Applied Technology, UAE. He conducts an IELTS preparation course throughout Semester 2 for his students (usually females aged 17-30). He leads student-centered projects and student-centered CALL sessions in IT labs. He is interested in doing voluntary professional development presentations on CALL and testing (ESL & IELTS tests). His intermittent tasks include researches on similar academic programs, contributions to curriculum development, poster design, brochure design and multimedia shows on national occasions.

Ahmed’s main fields of interest are TEFL, TESOL Arabia, IELTS, CALL, instructional technology, organizing and leading professional development workshops for the Abu Dhabi English teachers, reading the Holy Quran, CoRT, computer maintenance, tourism, surfing the Internet and watching TV.
