Ahmad Muhammad Bawa

Ahmad Muhammad Bawa (born 1 January 1943) is a Nigerian educationist and politician from Faskari, Katsina State. Bawa held so many important public offices, he was the Katsina State Commissioner of Education and Special Duties (from 1988 to 1989); he was later deployed to the governor's office as the Director General from 1989 to 1991; he was the Chairman of Faskari Local Government from 1994 to 1996. In January 1998 He was appointed a Permanent Commissioner of the Katsina State Civil Service Commission, a position he held for eight 8 years.
Early Life and Education
Bawa started his education with Islamic School at home, he later went to Junior Primary School Faskari from 1952 to 1955; from 1956 to 1958 he was at Senior Primary School Dutsinma and Funtua. From January  1959 to December 1960, he was at Katsina Teachers College for his Grade III teachers certificate and later from 1962 to 1963 returned to the same college ffor his  Grade II teachers certificate. In 1965 Bawa went to the Advanced Teachers College Kano for the National certificate on Education, and graduated in 1968. While in September 1972 gained admission at A.B.U Zaria for a bachelor's degree course. He graduated in 1975.<ref name=":0" />
Career
Being a qualified teacher, Bawa started teaching in 1961 in primary school, while reaching the position of headmaster in 1964. He taught at secondary school Zaria (Alhuda-huda), Barewa College and at Mani UPE Teachers College. He was later assigned to the Inspectorate Division of the State Ministry of Education. After graduating from the A.B.U In 1975, he taught for a while at the Katsina Teachers College and there after appointed the Principal of the Government Secondary School Daura (November 1975 to September 1979) and the Government College Katsina (from September 1979 to September 1982).<ref name=":0" />
He was promoted to the position of Zonal Inspector of Education Malumfashi and later from October 1983 to August 1984, deputy director of Education Headquarters, Kaduna. From 1984 to 1987 he was the sole administrator of Kankia Local Government. In 1987 he was promoted to the position of a permanent secretary, which he held for two years (1987 to 1988). He was appointed the Katsina State Commissioner of Education and Special Duties which he holds for two years (from 1988 to 1989). He was deployed to the Governor's office as the Director General from 1989 to 1991. He retired from service in April 1991.
