Hashim Ubale Yusufu

Hashim Ubale Yusufu, FPSN (born on 21st day of September 1956) is a former Nigerian drug administrator and politician. He is a Fellow of Phamaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and member of it's political/legislative action commitee.
Background
Born on the 21st day of September 1956 in the ancient and historical town of Garin Gabas (or Birom of the famous Bayajidda Dynasty) in the present day Mallam-Madori Local Government Area of Jigawa State, he started his primary education (along with the traditional Qur’anic education) at the Garin Gabas primary School from where he proceeded to attend Government Secondary School Birnin Kudu between 1969 and 1973 when he wrote and passed the West African School Certificate Examination (WASC).
Between 1973 and 1975 he attended College of Advanced Studies, Kano, and obtained a Higher School Certificate. He then got admission into the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he graduated in 1981 with a B.Sc. Pharmacy.
After graduation, Mallam Hashim Ubale he joined the National Youths Service Corps scheme and got posted to the Federal Polytechnic Afikpo-okposi, Imo State, where he served as the school's pharmacist and chemistry lecturer, between 1982 and1983.
Public Service
Hashim started his public service career as a Junior Officer and, spanning decades, rose to occupy a higher position of Director in the foods and Drugs regulation in Nigeria.
Politics
Hashim politiical carrear started in 1990 when he was appointed specail assisatat to the then chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP) Amabassador Babagana Kingibe. He remain in that position for three years.
Between 1999 and 2007, Jigawa State governor Ibrahim Saminu Turaki appointed Hashim as permamnet secreatary Intergovernmental Affairs and went on to became the member of the State Executive Council where he served as Commissioner in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Cooperatives and Entrepreneurship Development respectively. He also served as the Chairman National ID Committee Jigawa State, and supervised the Sugar Cane, Rice/Fish, Cotton programme and the Jigawa State People’s Congress.
During 2015 Nigeria general election, Hashim contested in a primary election to become the flag bearer of The All Progressive Congress (APC) in governorship election but lost to Muhammad badaru Abubakar. He recontested again in 2019 but lost to the incunbent governor of Jigawa State Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
In August 2020, Hashim and 103 others were appointed as campain council members for the 2020 Ondo State governorship election. The canditate of the All Progressive Congressive Congress (APC) Rotimi Akeredolu won the election which was held on October 10, 2020.
