Aditya Tripathi

Aditya Tripathi (; born 26 October 1976) is an Indian Library and Information Science Academics and Information professional. Tripathi works at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi as Assistant Professor of Library and Information Science at Department of Library and Information Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, whose principal area of study is Multilingual Information Retrieval System, Design and Development of Digital Library, e-learning, Website designing, Automated Indexing Tools, Integrated library system, Federated search, Machine Readable Cataloguing (MARC standards), Metadata, Semantic Web, Extensible MarkUp Language (XML), Open-source software etc. He is actively involved in organising national level conferences, seminars and workshops, in India.
Career
Tripathi did his Bachelors in Science (B.Sc.) and Bachelor of Library and Information Science(BLIS) from Banaras Hindu University, ADIS from DRTC and then earned his doctorate ON "Design and Development of Multilingual Information Retrieval System with Numeric MARC" at University of Pune.
Teaching experience
Tripathi Joined Department of Library and Information Science, Banaras Hindu University in September, 2004 as a Lecturer and he also taught at Documentation Research and Training Centre, DRTC, Bangalore (2000-2004).

* He also developed BRASS: A Multilingual Information Retrieval System based on MARC21. The system takes bibliographic record in one of the Indian script and generates output into desired Indian script on-the-fly at the time of search. Search can be done in the Indian script.

Tripathi's core area of interest are Library automation, Open Access movement, Open-source software, Open source Solution, Digital library, and Institutional Repository.
