Among the Echoes is a Canadian progressive metal band from Whitby, Ontario. Biography The band was founded in January 2007 under the name Escaping Anxiety in Whitby, Ontario by guitarist Alex Puchalski, guitarist Mark Dashney, vocalist Thomas Dashney, bassist Santino Maiolo, and drummer Brandon Kelly. They recorded their first EP, In My Sight, in Ivy Laine Studios, Toronto on November 17th and 18th 2007. The band's name, Among the Echoes, was initially constructed by Michael Longauer through developing a series of word phrases on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 12:07am. They have competed for four years in the music competition Bandwarz and placed in fourth on June 13th, 2010. They have had a performance and interview aired on the Bandwarz 2010 television show, which was broadcasted on Rogers TV on June 26th and June 29th 2010. The name change was officially announced on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 2:15pm. They are set to begin recording their debut EP in May of 2011. The title of the EP is to be announced in 2011 and the release date is to be announced in 2011.
