Abul Irfan

Shaik Abul Irfan : (25 June 1945), As a child named as Shaikh Mahboob Subhani, now known as Abul Irfan, author and the Founder Chairman of Islamic Resource Centre, established for the development of Islamic literature in Telugu. He authored many books in Telugu on Islamic religion and culture. He maintained regular columns in PRABODHINI monthly (Telugu), GEETURAI weekly (Telugu Islamic magazine).
Born in Sattenapalle of Guntur District. When he was 6 months old father expired, mother brought him up. His schooling was in Telugu medium, hence he got tremendous command on Telugu language. He joined Irrigation department as a clerk. But could not satisfy his soul, he resigned his job and started writing Islamic literature in Telugu language. As a Muslim family his mother tongue was Urdu, he saw good collection of Islamic literature in Urdu language which is not available to the Telugu people . He aimed to give the Islamic literature in Telugu language to the Telugu people. He then started his mission. He shifted to Hyderabad from home town.
He worked as a Sub-Editor in GEETURAI weekly and later promoted as In-charge Editor in GEETURAI monthly. He served as Editor in GEETURAI weekly from September 1996 to April 1997.
Literary journey
He authored many books in Telugu on Islamic religion and culture. He maintained regular columns in PRABODHINI monthly, GEETURAI weekly.
In addition, he translated several books published by various organizations. Currently he is running his own institution name (Islamic Resource Centre) for development of Islamic literature in Telugu.
Islamic Resource Centre
He established an organization Islamic Resource Centre, to cater the need of Islamic literature to the Telugu people, in Chatta Bazar, Hyderabad.
