A Movable West

A Movable West also known by his birth name, Josiah Byars is an Indie/Folk Rock artist from Stockton, California. A Movable West is a very well known artist in the Northern California area. He has toured all across the west coast of the United States in places like Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada. Byars describing A Movable West himself says, "It is the house your mom used to read to you in, but also the house your dad would tear apart when he was angry. It is where love, hate, uncertainty and bliss all coexist. It is safety. A Movable West is the brain-child of Josiah Byars. It started in his California bathroom in a one on one bout with his acoustic guitar. It is still unclear who exactly won this conflict but when the dust settled something new existed and he called it A Movable West. “I just wanted a way to understand myself and everyone around me better” said Josiah of his intention. “I really wanted answers but all I got were more questions." Byars won a online Battle of the Bands contest for a newspaper in the Northern California Area, Lodi News-Sentinel. He won the contest by a landslide vote, and received much publicity from the win, and talks a lot about how his music is off of lifes challenges.

A Movable West's first realease was in 2009, it was released on a Tuesday at the Plea for Peace Center at a CD release party. The CD was well received by its fans, and fans wanted a second release as soon as possible.
