Venezuelan nuclear program is a set of discussed nuclear activities Venezuela. Chávez has talked about uranium mining and nuclear energy.
Chávez has talked about developing nuclear energy since 2005. Chávez sought to transfer technology from Brazil in 2005. Brazil's response was “In view of possible Iranian participation, as President Chávez has suggested, such a partnership would be risky for Brazil. Brazil is not interested in cooperating with countries that do not follow international treaties and whose programs are not monitored by competent authorities." In 2008 Venezuela announced a deal to transfer nuclear technology from Russia. Chávez said that the cooperation was proposed by Igor Sechin, who negotiated the deal on weapons and nuclear technology deliveries to Venezuela.
In 2009 Chávez said:
An Iranian dairy has set up a plant in Venezuela, near Colombian border (territory controlled by Colombia's terrorist group FARC), a strange location for a dairy.
