Fourteen years into her marriage, Corcoran’s husband, Brian, a physician, admitted he was a sex addict. As a result of couple's therapy, individual counseling and treatment, the couple, who are the parents of four, remain married. Throughout the process, Corcoran kept a journal and, in 2011, turned her diary entries into A House Interrupted.
The book is divided into three sections :
# Hell on Earth
# The Desert of Recovery
# Healing.
The book's publisher noted that Corcoran’s story “proves that women can emerge from the betrayal, anger, and heartache to become authentically peaceful and resilient sources of support to other women.”
Appearances
The book debuted at the South Carolina Book Festival in May 2011. Also that May, Corcoran appeared with her husband on HLN's "Dr. Drew" show to discuss sexual addiction.

Myrtle Beach Online wrote about the topic of sexual addiction, saying: "This is a problem that has probably existed as long as humankind but that is only recently gaining attention.
