Martha Hamlett

Martha Clowdis Hamlett is a children's poem writer and children's book author who write Bats in the Air, Bats in My Hair. Hamlett currently resides with her family in Lynchburg, Virginia. Hamlett has performed several readings and signings at bookstores and schools. She was noted in several newspapers including The Altavista Journal, The Index Journal, and Greenwood Today. Hamlett was interviewed by Don McCauley on the radio show, The Children Authors Show, on June 25, 2009. Hamlett's children's poetry has been featured on poetry.com. Hamlett spoke July 17, 2009, at Longwood University's Literary Conference on the topic of success through persistence and imagination.

# Bats in the Air, Bats in My Hair (2008)
::The story is about a childhood experience Hamlett had when she was a young girl who spent the night at her grandmother's house and bats got in the bedroom that she was sleeping in. The book format is a rhyme-filled picture book.
