Paul Gustafson is an Oxfordshire pike angler, children's author and teacher.
Career
Born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Paul Gustafson became interested in angling as a child, fishing on the River Severn. This experience led to a position as chief angling consultant for the fishing tackle company Abu Garcia, which he held for seven years. Having established himself as a prominent freshwater fisherman he has authored several pike fishing titles and has appeared on such television programmes as "Predators" and "Tales from the Riverbank". Gustafson recently became involved in a campaign to prevent the closure of an open-air swimming pool in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, linking the closure to possible dangers of river bathing.
In conjuction to his fishing titles, Gustafson is the author of a series of children's books and teaches at secondary schools in the Abingdon area, notably the John Mason, Larkmead and Fitzharrys schools and King Alfred's Community and Sports College.
