2012 Air Class Swearingen accident

On June 6, 2012, an Swearingen SA227-C Metro, operated by Air Class Líneas Aéreas, went missing over the Río de la Plata in Uruguay.
The incident
The aircraft, operating as an air freighter, was flying from Carrasco International Airport, Montevideo, Uruguay to Ezeiza International Airport, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Operating in icing conditions, air traffic control lost contact with the aircraft at an altitude of approximately , five minutes into the flight and approximately south of Montevideo. The aircraft did not land at any airport and is thought to have fallen about 2nm south of Flores Island, in the area it was in when contact was lost.
The only people on board were the 2 crew, Walter Rigo (63) and Martín Riva (34). After the weather conditions made the search almost impossible, on June 20 the authorities went on searching; so far, 50% of the area has been surveyed with no signs of the plane or crew.
