Yusuf Berkan Demirbag is a Turkish actor. He is known for his roles in the 2011 movie Can , and the TV series Magnificent Century.

Can (2011)

In the 2011 film Can , Yusuf Berkan Demirbag plays the title role of Can, a young boy illegally procured by a young married couple in Istanbul. The couple, portrayed by Selen Uçer (Can’s mother, Ayse) and Serdar Orçin (Can’s father, Cemal), struggle throughout the film to keep the knowledge of their son Can from others. Cemal is also involved in some other illegal activities in the city of Istanbul, which adds to the tension of hiding Can. Can was directed and written by Rasit Çelikezer, and was nominated for and subsequently won the World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Prize for Artistic Vision at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

Magnificent Century (2011-2014)

In the television series Magnificent Century (also known by its original title of Muhteşem Yüzyıl ), Yusuf Berkan Demirbag plays the role of Şehzade Mustafa, Sultan Süleyman's eldest child and Mahidevran Sultan's only child, and first heir to the throne. Demirbag only held this role for the first season of the show, appearing in 14 of the show’s 139 episodes; as the character of Şehzade Mustafa got older, he was replaced by Tunç Oral and Mehmet Günsür in later seasons. Muhteşem Yüzyıl is a historical series, following the life of Ottoman Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent, the longest-reigning Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, and his family. Muhteşem Yüzyıl was nominated for Best Continuing Series at the 2012 Banff Television Festival, and for Best International Television Series at the 2011 Geneva International Film Festival - Tous Écrans. The show was written by Meral Okay and Yılmaz Şahin, and has a spinoff show called Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem.
