Yesilist
Yeşilist, or Yesilist, is a company headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey that serves as Turkeys first and only environmental and green-living platform.
It was founded by Ergem Senyuva in 2010 as a "green" pages business directory, listing all organic and sustainable businesses existing in Turkey. Yesilist has since grown into a social-media driven center for environmental advocacy as well as a portal for health lifestyle content and environmental news related to Turkey and the world. The Yesilist site is offered in both Turkish and English.
Social reform
From 2012 to 2013, Yesilist petitioned against the construction of a massive housing complex, Ağaoğlu Maslak 1453, with a campaign that would destroy a substantial part of the Fatih Forest, a public space. Hosted by change.org, the petition garnered 45,976 signatures, which pushed the housing project to reduce the amount of space it would destroy of the Fatih Forest.
Workshops
Yesilist works as much offline as it does online, hosting a variety of educational events and seminars, for which it partners with foreign ministries, local municipalities, NGOs and the government.
In 2013, Yesilist worked with Germany's Öko-Institut to host the Blue Angel Workshop, sponsored by German Ministry of Environment. It also teamed with the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange & Study Program to educate the youth.
