Yangon International Educare Center
The Yangon International Educare Center YIEC is a Hign School in Yangon, Myanmar. It was organized in fall of 1997 by a group of investors who pooled their resources to start the school. The board is composed of parents of YIEC students and international educators. The members have vast experiences and understanding of international education and the local community. The board has set the guidelines for the operations of YIEC. They normally hold business meetings twice every month.
The School
Yangon International Educare Center (YIEC) opened its door to students in 1998. It is one of three Pre-K through 12th grade international schools in Yangon. Opening enrollment during 2007 was 748 students in grades Pre-K to 12th grade. This is quite a change since the 1998 school year when the enrollment was 48 students.
The student body is 70% Burmese, and the other 30% is various ethnic groups. One hundred percent of the graduates were accepted to universities around the world with eighty percent of the graduates starting college at four-year schools in the United States and twenty percent at Australian universities.
