Whisbi is a SaaS e-Commerce performance management company specializing in website Conversion optimization for mid-size and enterprise business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) companies. Whisbi provides Lead generation, a patented technology solution and Video Agents to help clients sell products and services via their website.

Background and history

Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain with additional offices in Madrid, London, and São Paulo, Brazil, Whisbi was founded in 2008 by Alex Bisbe and Jose Luis Cantero. Their aim was to take their experience in call center sales and integrate the one-to-one experience customers receive through a call center agent and apply that to online sales for eCommerce clients by combining live video images of the Video Agent with the audio transferred via telephone.

In December 2011 a first round of funding was completed led by Active Venture Partners. In September 2012, Whisbi announced further equity funding from BDMI(the investment arm of Bertelsmann) raising a total of $2.5 million in venture capital to date.

Patents

Whisbi has been active, since its inception, in applying for patents for various aspects of its proprietary technology platform. The company recognizes that developing and protecting its intellectual property creates additional value in the company, and acts as a business moat to deter competitors. So far, Whisbi has secured three issued patents and has additional pending patent applications in the United States and other countries..

In 2011, the company was awarded Gartner 'Cool Vendor' status.
