What Mortgage

What Mortgage is an English-language monthly personal finance publication owned by Metropolis International Group Ltd. The magazine was first published in spring 1982 by What Mortgage Ltd under original Editor Greg Thain.

Since its origin, the magazine claims to maintain its core focus of helping people searching for mortgages as well as needing information AbOUT associated financial products and services such as insurance and conveyancing.

It publishes different features, InterViews, news and articles in each monthly issue. It also produces regular supplements and round table events covering specific topics such as home buying, remortgaging and equity release.

As a consumer magazine, ‘What Mortgage’ has an audience of first and second time buyers, remortgagers and people who have interests in buy to let as well as buying property overseas.

The magazine is a publication of Metropolis International Group Ltd. It is part of the consumer division which also includes Family History Monthly, Kindred Spirit and Record Collector.

Features

The What Mortgage Awards was started in 1993 and is an annual event recognising and rewarding the achievements of product and service providing companies in the mortgage industry and other companies which are part of the associated purchasing chain. Award categories include: best building society, best fixed rate mortgage and best home insurance provider.

The Mortgage Knights is a regular event at which the Editor invites a panel made up of industry professionals to discuss current issues surrounding the mortgage and property market in the UK. An edited transcript of the discussion is then published in the magazine and online.
