Weekends (band)

Weekends is a 2-piece art rock band formed in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Their sound has been compared to Ponytail as well as Lightning Bolt and Death From Above 1979 due to the band's experimental guitar work and unique vocal stylings.. They have released one self-titled album, Weekends, and two EPs Swim City EP and "Suburbuan Dome EP". They are also releasing an upcoming vinyl LP on Baltimore based Friends Records.

History

Weekends

Lempel and Sullivan met while they were both students in Baltimore; Lempel was a philosophy student at Johns Hopkins University and Sullivan was a sculpture major at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Lempel saw Sullivan play in a band called ALLNITR and said "I want to be in a band with that dude!" They practiced in Sullivan's apartment in the Copycat Building which was also the former Wham City apartment and they recorded their first album in a friend's basement in one afternoon and released it themselves.
