Warren Cassell, Jr.
Warren Cassell, Jr. (born May 7, 1999) is an American-born investor and author residing in Montserrat. He is the Chairman of The Abella Group LLC. Cassell holds investments in businesses operating in sectors that include media, financial services, real estate and technology.
Businesses
At the age of eight, Cassell started his first business venture called Emerald Greeting Cards. The business was started with a capital investment from both his mother and father. Emerald Greeting Cards sold customized greeting cards to residents on the island of Montserrat.
Since Emerald Greeting Cards, Cassell embarked on a number of other ventures. In 2011, he started a web hosting service provider called Chupz Business Solutions. Through his investment vehicle,The Abella Group, he invests in both private and publicly traded companies.
The Abella Group
The Abella Group is a privately held investment company that was formed to exclusively manage Cassell's investments in a number of globally diverse sectors. The company seeks to invest in established companies domiciled in industries that are supported by growing demand. Their investment portfolio currently includes minority stakes in The Blackstone Group L.P., Berkshire Hathaway, and Sagicor Financial Corporation.
Cassell's ultimate goal is to use the lessons he will learn at the helm of The Abella Group to start an investment management firm for minorities which will provide them with access to investment opportunities that are usually reserved for the wealthy.
Bibliography
Cassell is a believer that nature can offer a lot of wisdom and as a result his work is highly focused on lessons he gleaned from observing plants and animals. His two books, Swim or Drown and The Farm of Wisdom, both share business and life lessons he gleaned from nature. In addition to being a contributor to The Huffington Post and Entrepreneur (magazine). Cassell has published several articles and essays on the connection between nature, life and business.
Honors and awards
On May 12, 2013, Cassell received his first dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Cassell was named Caribbean Journal's Entrepreneur of the Year 2013.
