Founded in 2015, Wakefield District Raiders (formerly Knottingley Raiders) are proud to be the only American football club serving Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and the Five Towns.
The Raiders were founded by current head coach Zak Constance, before a consortium of coaches and former players who had previously played together at other local teams. They established themselves in BAFA's Division Two, while regularly competing against local rival teams in the Humberside Warhawks and Doncaster Mustangs.
The team was originally named the Knottingley Raiders, before relocating to Wakefield in 2023 - while representing the five towns of Castleford, Featherstone, Knottingley, Normanton and Pontefract.
