Valy Hedjasi

Valy Hedjasi (Persian: ولی حجازی, born May 29, 1986), professionally known as Valy, is an Afghan singer-songwriter in Germany.

Early life and education

Valy Hedjasi was born in Mashhad, Iran, from a family of Persian-speaker Herati origin in Herat, Afghanistan. Later in life, he shifted with his family to Germany. As per reports, he pursued the study of Persian, Indian, and Arabic classical music, along with voice training in those traditions. He has also claimed he was a student of Afghan singer and composer Nasrat Parsa.

Career

Valy emerged in Afghan pop music as well as Persian pop music in the 2000s. In fact, his songs such as “Bia Tu” as well as “Delamo Shekoondi” had performances on Afghan as well as Iranian music TV shows.

He also collaborated with an Iranian record label called Avang Music, which released his studio and live recordings.

Commercial activities

In 2012, the Afghan media introduced Valy as a brand ambassador for the Afghan Wireless Communication Company also known as AWCC.

Collaborations

Afghan singer Seeta Qasemi has said in some interviews that she was working with Valy in the beginning stages of his musical journey and was featured in creating the song 'Bia Tu'.
